Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do I need a logo?

    What should my logo represent?

A visual identity, with the logo at its core, is a useful tool that helps potential customers see you, remember you and interact with the business. It also communicates professionalism, intent to expand and grow and sets the business apart.

The function of a logo is to identify, not to explain. Therefore, the most simple and compact visual identifiers are the most effective, to help potential customers remember the image. A simple icon and the name of the business will be enough, most often. The shortest and simplest ideas are the most effective and versatile. Mottos are not required and most often discouraged as part of the main logo.

  • Can I copy another logo?

Inspiration is encouraged, especially from strong, proven brands, but simply copying the design and even modifying it slightly not only shows lack of interest in developing an identity, but could also spark legal issues.

  • Can I have loads of small details on my logo?

The amount of detail in a functional logo should be dictated by the smallest version it will be used in. It is highly recommended to observe the logos of popular brands or even the most used apps on your personal phone. If they are more complicated and crowded than that small space allows, it will hurt the brand.

  • Can I have an image as a logo?

Logos need to be versatile and functional, with them describing the same silhouette in flat colors or black and white version. This is why most logos do not use visual effects or too many colors. An easy way to imagine it is to think of your logo as a paper cut-out; does the result communicate the same look and feel as the primary logo? If not, then the design relies too heavily on flashy visuals, which could, ultimately, say that you are not confident in the image and are trying to compensate through detail.

  • What type of files will I receive when the logo is ready?

The types of files we deliver contain every useful file one might need. Starting with .png files (high quality, transparency) that can be used in the digital space, .pdf files (ideal for printing), as well as .ai, .svg and .eps files, all of which can be used in the future by a designer for various changes and projects.

We provide these files in RGB (web) formats as well as CMYK (print).

Besides the primary version of the full logo, we provide a pure black and pure white file and, if requested, can provide an icon only version, on top of the normal full version (icon+text).
